A black and white photographic image of the front façade of Hayes' Hotel, Liberty Square, Thurles. Dating back to the 18th century the Hotel was owned by William Boyton in 1830s and then in the 1870s by Miss Eliza J. Hayes and was known as Hayes' Commercial and Family Hotel. Here on the 1 November 1884, in the billiards room, a group of men gathered to found the Gaelic Athletics Association (GAA). 1987
