A black and white photographic image of a view down the avenue to the front entrance of St. Patrick’s College. Thurles. The College was opened in September 1837 built with a legacy from Dr. Laffan, Archbishop of Cashel. It soon included both lay and seminary students. Between 1907 and 1988 it was exclusively a seminary. It returned to teaching lay students and offers degrees in humanities courses in conjunction with Mary Immaculate College, Limerick. 1987
